Our school is part of Victoria Academies Trust. VAT are a family of schools across the West Midlands who work together to achieve their Trust Mission ‘To Make People The Best They Can Be’
Their Trust Values are the golden thread that runs through all that they do.
Their values are important to them and guide their behaviours, their relationships and the way they work together. Their values define how they want to be. These values of Unity, Integrity, Courage, Curiosity and Excellence, along with their commitment to strong ethical leadership ensure that they build a positive and powerful legacy to be proud of.

We are a family of schools, united in our passion for inspiring pupils to achieve more than they imagine possible. We have a positive influence on children’s lives in areas where we can make the most difference. We are ambitious for our children. Our high expectations of them, the memorable experiences and opportunities they have in our schools, along with the kindness and compassion which is at the centre of our Trust means that they will be successful in whatever they choose for their future.
We are at the heart of our communities; a place where local people can turn to for help, support and guidance, working with us for the greater good of our shared community. We are aspirational for our people, who are given opportunities to grow, develop and become experts in their chosen fields. Our people feel valued and supported; they show ambition, courage and resilience, but most of all are kind and respectful.
How we teach VAT's Values at Whitehall
VAT’s values are our values. As well as the informal teaching that comes through staff interaction with one another and the children, and the celebration of what is good; whether behaviour, work, attitude or character; this is how we formally teach our values to our children:
First the children are introduced to the values on the first week of a new school year with fun activities around each of the values: teamwork challenge for unity, science experiment for curiosity, drama role play for integrity, trim trail challenge for courage and creating a beautifully finished piece of work for excellence. Then, every week throughout the year the children in Years 1 and 2 receive value awards in our Values assembly and have their name written on the Values Board under the value they have championed that week. Parents are invited in to celebrate with us and clap their child as they receive their certificate.
Once a year we have a special Values day that we share across the VAT family of schools where the children engage in fun and thoughtful activities to once again embed the spirit of the values and help them to physically experience their worth.
This weekly input and the celebratory element help to show the children, and engage them in, the importance of these character developments. We know that success in this area will give them a greater opportunity of success in their life, as these values are life values.
