Uniform

All children, including those in Nursery, are expected to attend school wearing school uniform because this enables them to feel part of the wider school and fosters a strong sense of belonging.

Whitehall’s school colours are green and grey/black and white.

• Trousers: grey or black, long or short
• Skirts/pinafores: grey
• Polo shirts with school motif (available from school) or shirts/blouses: white, long or short-sleeved
• Sweatshirts with school motif (available from school) or jumpers/cardigans: green
• Shoes: black (low heels)
• Book bag with school logo (available from school)

We also stock reversible, showerproof jackets/fleeces and woolly hats (neither of these are compulsory, but they look really good!).

PE Uniform

Just as the children have a school uniform – they also have a PE uniform. This is just as important as the school uniform.

The PE uniform has been chosen for low-cost, safe clothing, and children must wear what we are requesting if they are to do PE safely.

Children must not wear jeans or cargo trousers, jumpers or hoodies these are not suitable PE clothing.

All PE clothing should be plain grey or black – no logos/slogans or designs.  T-shirts should be plain white – short or long sleeved.

Jewellery, etc.

Children should not come to school with jewellery: necklaces, bangles, dangly earrings. Only small stud earrings are allowed.

Children should have their earrings removed on their PE day or you must cover them.  Surgical tape or a small plaster can be used.  Staff cannot remove earrings for children.

If your child is wearing religious jewellery that cannot be removed (if it can be removed on PE day please do) please ensure it is safely covered over with a long sleeved white t-shirt.

Watches are allowed in school but should be removed for PE. These should be placed in the teachers’ care.
